Turkey Trot: Gobble for Good
Get ready to trot for a cause at our Turkey Trot! Join us at Franklin Park on Saturday, November 16, 2024, for a fun-filled day of running and community spirit. We are hosting this year's Turkey Trot to raise funds for our local families that need food, educational services and life long skills to the local community.
Starting bright and early, the 5K kicks off at 8:00 AM, followed by the 1-Mile Fun Run at 8:45 AM. Lace up your running shoes and bring your enthusiasm as we dash through the scenic cross-country course together. This course meanders through much of the 200 acre park with wooded paths, open fields, and plenty of scenery to take in. Race lineup will be located in the field across from the pool parking lot.
All pre-registered 5K participants will receive a guaranteed long sleeve race T-shirt to commemorate the event.

Please note that for the safety of all participants, no dogs, wagons, or baby strollers are allowed on the course due to the terrain. Let's come together for a day of fitness, fun, and giving back to the community. See you at the starting line!
5K Registration Cost:
$30 through October 15
$35 October 16 – October 31
$40 November 1 – November 13th at 8pm
One Mile Fun Run Registration Cost:
$20 through October 31
$25 November 1 - November 13 at 8pm

Sign up as an individual racer, or race as a team. Create teams within your work colleagues, family, neighbors or sports team and strive for the 4 fastest cumulative times on your team and bragging rights for the rest of the year!
Start times:
5K will start at 8 AM
1 Miler will start at 8:45 AM

Course: This course is cross country style and has several steep hills. Please no dogs, wagons or baby strollers - with the uneven terrain, we want to ensure everyone's safety.
One water stop along the course will be a self serve refillable style. Runners are encouraged to bring their own water bottle to use while on course.
Awards & Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the overall top three (3) men and top three (3) women, top three (3) masters male and female and to the top two (2) men and women in the following age groups: 9 & Under, 10–19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & Over. The awards ceremony will take place following the race.
Prizes will also be awarded for best Turkey costume. Costumes will be judged in the following categories:

Top 2 best Turkey Kids costume under the age of 17
Who: Competitive runners, fitness/frequent runners, joggers/recreational runners and walkers. Running clubs are welcomed.
Kids Fun Run: There will be a noncompetitive (untimed) fun run for kids beginning at 8:45 a.m. Medals awarded to all finishers.
Costumes: Costumes are welcome and encouraged for this fun, family event. Medals will be awarded to three finishers with the best costumes.
Cutoff date for guaranteed t-shirt sizes is 11:59 p.m. ET, Sunday, October 27 (to allow lead time for printing and shipping).
Parking: Plenty of Free Parking will be available.
Swag: 5K participants will receive a commemorative long sleeve performance t-shirt.
Volunteers
Join in the fun as an event volunteer! This event relies on 50+ volunteers to be successful and we need YOUR help. Volunteer jobs include water station, race registration area, or course marshals on race day. We will also need volunteers at packet pick up. Interested in volunteering?
Please email Danielle at danielle@djkmarketingsolutins.com. Volunteers should arrive approximately 60 minutes before the first race kicks off. We will assign volunteer tasks on race morning (water station, course marshals, finish line support, etc). We will have a signup coming out in September.
