A child comes home from school. They last ate at 11 a.m., and it is now 3 p.m. or later. Hungry, they go to the cupboard and find it empty. They then check the fridge—also empty. Defeated, they sit down to work on homework but cannot focus as their stomach aches with hunger. Eventually, they go outside, searching for anyone willing to help distract them or satisfy their hunger. Sadly, too often, the person they meet is someone they should have never encountered.

This is where we come in. We offer a space within walking distance where a child can come to the pantry, find safety, study, and have their basic food needs met—without restrictions or questions.
